The Battleship New Jersey Memorial Pier & Visitor Center

Massoud Mohadjeri designed a Memorial Pier and a Visitor Center for the retired Battleship New Jersey, while at The Gibson Tarquini Group . The architect was charged to fast track and design-build a 4,000 SF pre-engineered metal building as a Visitor Center housing a ticket office, restroom facilities and a gift shop. The first phase of the project, the Access Pier, north and south Stair/ Elevator Towers and the associated Gangways, Lighting of the Battleship as well as the Visitor Center were all ready for the big opening bash on the Labor Day weekend. The approximately 400-foot long, “T”-shaped access pier takes visitors through an ‘interpretive walkway that tells the story of the brave sailors who served proudly on the Battleship.
