High-Arch Gambrel Salt Storage Buildings

Commissioned by Pennsylvania Department of General Services, Roya Taheri, PhD designed and managed two new free-standing Salt Storage Facility for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), in Philadelphia and Gladwyne, Montgomery County.
The structure consists of High-Arch Gambrel Roof, on pre-manufactured Wood Trusses, held by pressure-treated Glulam Timber Columns and Kickers. Interior clearance is 34’ and the entrance opening height of 33’ to allow for the trucks to enter the space and bring or collect salt.
